Volunteers and Committees

Volunteer with San Antonio ASTD

As a non-profit organization, ASTD is primarily managed and supported by volunteers, and you can enhance the value of your ASTD membership by sharing your time and talents.

Volunteer opportunities exist no matter what level of time/effort you are able to commit.  The Chapter always tries to find a match between your interests and our volunteer needs.  Get the most out of your membership by becoming involved in our chapter operations and working with other members.  We would be happy to have you join us!

WIIFM?

Most of our long-time members, as well as many of our newer members, will tell you that they get the most out of being a San Antonio ASTD member when they become involved.  Becoming involved greatly increases your opportunities for networking and meeting new people, while giving you the opportunity to grow professionally in a friendly environment.  You can polish your current skill set or develop new skills by volunteering to work on one of the various committees, increase your knowledge in a specific area by joining one of our Special Interest Groups, become a published writer by submitting an article to our newsletter, or hone your facilitation skills by presenting as a speaker.

These are just a few of the opportunities that are open to you by getting involved!

By volunteering you can:

  • Meet new people
  • Connect meaningfully with your colleagues
  • Develop a professional network
  • Learn by doing
  • Build new skills
  • Boost your visibility
  • Influence the chapter’s efforts
  • Gain leadership experience
  • Give back to San Antonio ASTD and your community
  • Have fun!
